5th Annual
OKC-ON
Kayak Demo Day Open to the General Public |
Between 6:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3 |
Everyone within the OKC-ON who owns a kayak(s) will bring them to Lake Hefner’s Hobie Point on the south side of Lake Hefner. |
Anyone who is interested in kayaking and would like to paddle one (or more) before actually buying one, would be welcome to paddle any of our kayaks during the demo…AT NO COST |
Just Jump In and Go…Free of charge (you will be required to wear a pfd or life jacket while paddling) !! |
There should be around 35 or more different kinds of kayaks there for people to try, from sit-on-tops, sit-in recreational boats and sit-in whitewater kayaks. (whitewater kayaks are the ones that can be rolled) |
But, the demo will give you the knowledge of what to look for in a kayak when you go to a retail store to purchase one. |
You WILL BE AMAZED how stable a kayak is vs a canoe !!!! |
If you currently own a kayak, you would be most welcome to bring it to the demo. But you need to be aware that other people will be wanting to paddle your kayak. |
This years Demo will be held at Lake Hefner’s Hobie Point |
|
Contact the OKC Outdoor Network for more information on the kayak demo |

Cinco de Mayo means "Fifth of May" in Spanish, and is a celebration of the Mexican victory at the Battle of Puebla, May 5, 1862. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in Mexico, and has become a popular heritage celebration among Mexican-Americans. (or among Americans as…any excuse for a party !!) |
This party is for OKC-ON Members and their Guests ONLY !!!!
All OKC-ON Members are invited !!!!
|
|
OKC Outdoor Network Members will be receiving an email from the OKC-ON with directions to this party !!!! |

You can attend the classes that are most interesting and relevant to you. There’s no need to choose your classes ahead of time. You can decide as you go. |
